The Fisherman and the Farmer
Seafood sourced from family and small-scale fisheries on North Carolina's Outer Banks.
We are based out of Hatteras Village, NC, where I was born and raised. Together with long time friends, we inherited a fish house and installed an onsite processing facility. We have a small fleet of family fishers, ranging from a single mother in her 30's to an 80 year old man; I've known most of these fishermen my entire life and consider many of them my dear friends. Having the processing facility onsite means the fish come in and are cleaned, packed, and frozen immediately leading to a very high quality product.
The waters off the Outer Banks are renowned for their pristine waters, large variety of marine life and exceptional seafood. Shopping with us means you are buying from small scale fisheries that support year round employment for families on Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands. I took the name "The Fisherman and the Farmer" as the other half of the business focuses on bringing produce back from the communities we service to the families on Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands. We like to think of it as helping friends eat better both on and off the island.
